If we met you at a TTD conference this spring, welcome back. And if this is our first hello: we’re Jim and Beth Hood, homeschool parents from the Arkansas Ozarks, authors of Who Would Raise Them?, and estate planning educators. We built this workshop for families exactly like yours.
Here’s how to get the most out of it, in three steps:
Step 1: Watch the Short Video Class
Before the workshop, watch this short video. It introduces the heart behind our work and walks you through the Five Foundations of the Family Shield, so you arrive at the live workshop ready to go deeper instead of starting from zero.
Step 2: Download and Complete The Steward’s Audit
The Steward’s Audit is a simple self-assessment: 18 questions, Yes, No, or Not Sure. It helps you see where your family is already protected and where there may still be gaps.
Print it before you watch the video, or complete it right after. If you’re married, each spouse should answer separately. Go with your gut, and no peeking at each other’s answers. You can compare notes afterward. That conversation is often where the real clarity starts.
Bring your completed audit to the live workshop.
Step 3: Protect Your Workshop Time
Put your workshop date on the calendar now and treat it like an appointment.
Tuesday, July 14 at 7 PM Central or Thursday, July 16 at 3 PM Central (whichever you chose when you registered)
Families who attend live get the most out of it: live Q&A at the end, plus our Conversation Starter Kit, which we share only with live attendees. It’s designed to help you begin the right conversations with your spouse and potential guardians.
And if you’re married, attend together if you can. These are decisions you’ll make as a couple, and everything goes better when you both hear the same thing at the same time.
One More Thing, Parent to Parent
As homeschool parents, you’ve already decided that the state shouldn’t direct your children’s education. Guardianship and estate planning are the same conviction, applied to their whole future.
Because if something happened to you and there was no clear plan, a judge who has never met your children, and doesn’t share your values, could be the one deciding who finishes the work you started.
The state is not a steward.
That’s not a reason for fear. It’s the reason for the workshop.
